Can a jigsaw blade for ceramics be used to cut porcelain tiles?

Rona has a blade that is used for scrolling etc. but does not
mention porecelain. Where can I obtain the most desireable
blade and approximate cost?
get yourself a 4" angle grinder and put a specialist porcelain wheel on it , a normal one for ceramic tiles will take an age to cut through and will chip the edges quite badly, it will also get blunt pretty quickly and end up not going through at all. I use a wheel called a ‘Marcrist CK850 ‘ it costs about £30 but it goes cleanly through the toughest porcelain like a hot knife through butter. You can get them off the net or if you need one quick Builder Center do them. Don’t waste your time on the jigsaw blade it won’t work!

I would not think so, most ceramics need water whilst cutting with a blade there are special disc cutters for this.
Whoever..
Aldi have a Combitool by Powercraft that has a drill/rasp type cutter and guide for cutting tiles, made for cutting out the shape required for the likes of light switches etc.
COST AROUND £14 I’ve used mine and it worked fine on tiles.
It also has many other uses like a minidrill.

Menards, and the other big box stores carry a jigsaw blade that claims to cut ceramic and porcelain tile. I have tried them and found them to be worthless! Your bes bet is a tile ‘wet saw’ or the simple score and snap tool.
Cheapest wetsaws are about $70 comes with a blade that will last about 30 cuts. Decent replacement blade is about $80. The score and snap tools start around $30 for the cheap plastic tool.

Most of these blades are designed for soft white bodied tile. That being said, it probably won’t cut thru porcelain. For simple cuts, we find a 4 inch grinder with a continuous rim blade does the job quite well. It can cut circles as well as a radius. Great for cutting out holes for outlets and toilets.
