What makes the world go round?

There are as many different parenting styles as there are parents in the world. Ok, maybe not that many but there are definitely a lot. Many of my friends think my husband and I are too hard on our children because we require things from them. They have responsibilities and I expect them to take care of them. As I see it, the problem is too many people are raising children instead of raising adults. When my children turned 18, they were productive members of society who could hold a job, change a tire, shovel a neighbor’s sidewalk, and feed themselves without needed a drive-through window. Maybe more parents should practice raising adults instead of raising children.
