How do you find/search words in micro office word document (vista)?

Like C+F for browsers and searches in PDFs but how do you find in a word document, thanks!

For Microsoft 2007 your going to be in the Home Tab -> go to your far right and go the Editing dialog and first on the list is Find with a pair of binoculars to the left of the word click the arrow -> Click on find and type whatever you need to find and it will high light that word everywhere that it is used in the document.

Ps. Oh, ctrl+f works as well NOT C+F. No such thing.

How do I search for a word within a group of word documents without opening the documents?

November 19, 2009 - 3:49 pm 3 Comments

I often need to search a group of files, say 20 files in a 5 different folders, for a word or words. I don’t want to open each file and search it.

You can search for words within files from the Windows Explorer, Start Menu, Search, Files or Folders, "A word or phrase within a file".

Windows can read the contents of Word files.

What is the best way to search for a word withing several word documents?

Hello,

I want to search for a word within the word documents in a directory. I use Windows Vista and Office 2007. I tried the Windows Explorer search engine but it didn’t word (although I had explicitly chosen the option that it should search within the content of the file and not only the names). For example, Adobe Reader has a beautiful search engine that allows one to search all the pdfs in a certain directory. Is there something similar for Word? Thank you.

You have to setup Desktop search and then filter files to *.doc and keyword.
