Wikipedia question?

August 29, 2009 - 2:43 pm 12 Comments

You’ve seen the home page of Wikipedia.org, right? With the names of the different languages surrounding the jigsaw puzzle globe. What is the language on the middle left supposed to be, the one between Francais and Italiano, that just consists of rectangular shapes and has 286,000+ entries? Are you suppoosed to be able to read that or what?

It’s japanese.

It’s possible that your computer doesnt have the correct language capabilities.

But I promise, it’s japanese

For all those crazy Saw lovers out there, here is a tribute to the legacy of Jigsaw (aka John Kramer) and his twisted traps. Saw touches upon morality and how messed up this world really is. John Kramer becomes Jigsaw, a serial killer who wants his test subjects to understand how important life really is. This is my very 2nd video and I hope you all enjoy it xD If you have any questions about the songs used, dont be afraid to ask, it can be very confusing to see which songs are used and at which parts. Please rate and comment! xD

what is the theme to this poem?

August 27, 2009 - 5:09 pm 1 Comment

Life is a jigsaw puzzle
And people are the little pieces-
All different colours
And all different shapes and sizes
Sometimes you pick up a piece
And match it with another,
And the colours blend perfectly
And they fit into each other
But in our case,
The colors clashed,
And the jagged little edges
Just wouldn’t fit together,
No matter how hard we push them.
I guess we could have changed.
But isn’t it against the rules
To cut up the pieces
So that they fit together

Life is a mystery.

How many of you can’t read this?

Puzzles? With Clues?

August 23, 2009 - 8:40 pm 3 Comments

When I was a little girl, my gramma got me these two puzzles. They were similar to a jigsaw, but the pieces were in actual shapes of people, animals, etc, and there was a sheet of clues on how to assemble the puzzle. Try as I may, I cannot find these anywhere. Any help? Thanks!

I’m not sure if this is what you’re looking for…

But there IS this famous puzzle where a square is divided up into 7 pieces. It’s called Tangram. And those 7 pieces can form animals, shapes, letters and numbers… I remember we used to have them in maths class. Lots of puzzle makers will try and claim it to be their own original idea but it’s actually a really old puzzle.

Here’s a link to it…

Electric Dreams – Dual (†ëmpó Edit)

August 22, 2009 - 2:26 am 6 Comments

Firstly I am not claiming this song to be mine at all, this song appeared on the 1984 movie “Electric Dreams” as someone that’s seen and enjoyed this movie I decided to use Nexus & FL Studio to recreate the “Dual” scene this was produced by ear so if the synths sound out of place thats why, note this isnt an official mix just an edit and a bit of fun :) Read below for info on the movie…
——————————————————————————————————————————————————–
Electric Dreams is a 1984 British-American comedy/drama/romance/science fiction film set in San Francisco, California that depicts a love triangle between a man, a woman, and a home computer. It stars Lenny Von Dohlen, Virginia Madsen, and Bud Cort (voice) and was directed by Steve Barron. It was the first film released by the Virgin Films production company.

The soundtrack features music from prominent popular musicians of the time, being among the movies of this generation that actively explored the commercial link between a movie and its soundtrack. The soundtrack album Electric Dreams was re-issued on CD in 1998.

The VHS recording of this movie is rare. It was released in 1984 and again in 1991, but has not been manufactured since the mid-1990s. MGM Home Video released a Laserdisc in America in the early nineties, and Warner Bros released a Video CD version for the Singapore market in 2001, but both are out of print. The movie has never been released on DVD, however Amazon UK have it listed for release in April 2009

Plot

The story opens with Miles Harding (Lenny Von Dohlen), an architect who envisions a brick shaped like a jigsaw puzzle piece that could withstand earthquakes. Seeking a way to get organized, he buys a home computer (made by the fictitious company Pinecone Computers) to help him develop his ideas. Although he is initially unsure that he will even be able to correctly operate the computer, he later buys numerous extra gadgets that were not necessary for his work, such as switches to control household appliances like the blender, a speech synthesizer, and a microphone. The computer addresses Miles as “Moles”, because Miles mistyped his name during the initial set-up.

When Miles attempts to download data from a mainframe computer at work, the computer begins to overheat. In a state of panic, Miles pours a nearby bottle of champagne over the machine, which brings the computer to life.

The remainder of the movie deals with a love triangle between Miles, his computer (which identifies its own name as “Edgar” at the end of the movie), and Miles’ neighbor, an attractive cellist named Madeline (Virginia Madsen). Edgar increasingly invades Miles’ affairs leading to several invasions into his life away from the house.

Eventually, Edgar accepts Madeline and Miles’ love for each other, and appears to commit suicide by sending a large electric current through its acoustic coupler, around the world, and back to itself. In the final scene, a pop song written by Edgar as a tribute to Miles and Madeline plays on radio stations around the United States.

Question in the bottom plz help!!?

August 21, 2009 - 7:08 pm 2 Comments

Suppose you were given a length of string and an irregularly shaped piece from a jigsaw puzzle. How would you determine the perimeter of the piece of the jigsaw puzzle?(Perimeter is the distance around the outside edge of an object.)

The only way to determine the perimeter would be to tape one end of the string to a point on the outside of the jigsaw peice and slowly work your way around the outside of the piece with the rest of the string, being sure that it touches the piece all the way around to your starting point. Mark on the string where it meets the beginning again. Take it off the puzzle piece and measure it against a tape or ruler. (I am assuming you also have this). Finished!
