July 31, 2009 - 5:48 am 2 Comments

I am trying to order some jigsaw puzzles for my grandfather. I need some with maybe big pieces and not a lot of pieces. He has Alzheimer’s Disease….

I would like to maybe find one in the shape of the state of NC….. Thanks!!!

Maybe you could take a map of NC, glue it over the picture on a childrens puzzle, and then cut it out.

How do I get rid of the RX word search feature on my web browser?

July 31, 2009 - 5:48 am 2 Comments

When I load any webpage, certain words are double underlined by something called RX search. It opens up a new browser window for searching said word. This only happened when I updated my version of Windows IE. This feature is making it impossible for me to bid on item on eBay.

RX toolbar is a toolbar for Internet Explorer that comes bundled with Kazaa. It has been labled spyware by many antispyware products. It tracks your browsing habits to display related links depending on what websites you visit. To remove Kazaa and it’s toolbar:

1) Click on Start, Settings, Control Panel

2) Double-click on Add/Remove Programs

3) Find "RX Bar" and click Change/Remove at the bottom of the window to begin its removal.

4) Find "InstaFinderK" and click Change/Remove

5) Find "Need2Find Bar" and click Change/Remove

6) Find "Peer Points Manager" and click Change/Remove

7) Find "P2P Networking" and click Change/Remove. Warning, this program may have already been removed by a previous step. Don’t worry if you cant find it in the list.

8) Find "Kazaa 3.0" and click Change/Remove. Once this is removed restart your computer.

Once the computer is restarted, there are still some files that need to be removed. If you run HijackThis, you’ll find the following lines still remaining.

O2 – BHO: RXResultTracker Class – {59879FA4-4790-461c-A1CC-4EC4DE4CA483} – C:\Program Files\RXToolBar\sfcont.dll (file missing)

O18 – Filter: text/html – {2AB289AE-4B90-4281-B2AE-1F4BB034B647} – C:\Program Files\RXToolBar\sfcont.dll

Check these files and remove them with Hijackthis.

Next, Remove the following folders from the hard drive.

1) Open My Computer, Drive C

2) Double-click on Program Files folder

3) Right-click and Delete the following folders

* ALTNET
* INSTALFNK
* KAZAA
* NEED2FIND
* RXTOOLBAR

Also delete the file UNINSTALLNEED2FIND.DLL file in the Program Files folder

Where can I find a jigsaw frame for an unusually sized puzzle in the UK?

July 31, 2009 - 5:48 am 2 Comments

I have a panoramic puzzle which is 39′ x 12′ and need a jigsaw frame to place it in. Does anyone know of any websites/shops where I can buy custom-made frames?

If i cant find this, if i found a normal photo frame instead for the right dimensions, would a puzzle fit into this ok?

yes the puzzle will fit fine you should glue it together on the back with elmers rubber cement glue. it really works but you have to put it on fast because it dry’s fast. for the frame in the UK i don’t know because iv’e never been there
but you should try craft stores, hardware stores,
but websites you can go to hobby lobby, walmart, target, many place just put it in google and there will be tons heck you might even be able to buy on on ebay.
good luck

I am making a jigsaw puzzle for my coursework?

July 29, 2009 - 5:45 am 3 Comments

Im looking for disney princesses, i can find loads but im also looking for the puzzle shapes also to be on the page so i can print out and cut out the shapes, any websites that would be useful??

Why do you need the outline of the pieces to be already on the picture? Why not design your own jigsaw puzzle!

Or take a jigsaw you already have that is around the correct size and do a brass rubbing of it. Then use this as a template for the picture you are doing.

However, I have done (although not made!) jigsaws where some of the pieces are shaped – you could do this with things like crowns, flowers – and any other ‘princess’ type objects and disney characters. Just print out the pictures small enough for the original and cut them out. Lay them out, draw round them and join them by squiddly lines to hide them.

Good luck with the challenge you have set yourself!

What is the Fastest method of solving word search puzzles?

July 29, 2009 - 5:45 am 4 Comments

Every once and a while, we have word search contests in my class, and the first 5 finished get a prize. I am always pretty slow at these, i figure there must be some method to it. What is the fastest way??

I’ve always looked for the word backwards. I seem to find it better that way. For instance: If the word is tiger, I’ll look for regit.
